This Privacy Policy explains how ApplyBolt ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the ApplyBolt application and website at https://applybolt.io (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
ApplyBolt is a personal job application tracker that helps you organize job targets, applications, and follow-ups.
ApplyBolt is operated as an independent software service based in the United States.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
- Email address and basic profile information (via Supabase authentication)
- Authentication information (handled by our auth provider; we do not store your raw password)
2.2 Job tracking data
When you use ApplyBolt, we store the data you enter into the app, such as:
- Company, position, location, and job links
- Status, notes, referral and alumni information
- Next actions, dates, and priority scores
2.3 Gmail data (when connected)
If you choose to connect your Gmail account, we use Google OAuth to request read-only access to:
- Message metadata such as subject line, sender, snippet, and Gmail message / thread IDs
- Limited message content only as needed to detect job-related messages (application confirmations, interview emails, etc.)
We store derived job records in a table such as gmail_jobs:
- Subject, sender, and snippet
- Detected company, position, and suggested status (such as "Submitted")
- Gmail message and thread IDs to prevent duplicates
Gmail message metadata and derived records are retained only while your account is active or until you disconnect Gmail. After disconnection or account deletion, this data is deleted within a reasonable period.
We do not:
- Send email on your behalf
- Use Gmail data for advertising or marketing
- Sell or transfer Gmail data to third parties for their own use
2.4 Billing & payments
If you upgrade to a paid plan, payments are processed securely by Stripe. Stripe may collect your name, billing address, and payment details. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
2.5 Usage data & cookies
We may collect basic technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited.
We use essential cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain login sessions
- Authenticate users
- Support core functionality
We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- To sync and organize your job applications and leads
- To power Gmail autosync (if you connect Gmail)
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To monitor usage and improve the Service
- To communicate with you about updates, billing, and support
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks
4. Gmail data & Google API Limited Use
ApplyBolt's use of information received from Gmail APIs will adhere to Google's API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, we commit that Gmail data is only used to:
- Detect job-related emails
- Create or update job records inside ApplyBolt
We do not:
- Use Gmail data for ads
- Transfer Gmail data to third parties except as required to provide the Service under strict confidentiality obligations
You can disconnect Gmail access at any time from your Google Account settings or by contacting us.
5. How we share information
We may share your information only with:
- Service providers such as Supabase (database and auth), Stripe (payments), hosting, and analytics providers
- Authorities or legal entities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not sell personal information or Gmail data.
6. Data retention & deletion
We retain data while your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Upon account deletion or a deletion request, we will delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law, tax, or security obligations.

7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and managed hosting. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to your data being processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our providers operate.
9. Children's privacy
ApplyBolt is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
